Preston Hyundai sees Great Results in Maryland and Delaware Amid Slow New Car and Truck Market

Friday, March 5th, 2010

When Hyundai America first launched at Maryland Hyundai Dealers and Delaware Hyundai Dealers in 1986, they sold cars that were $5000 and were considered a piece of junk. The car they had launched was the Excel. Since then Hyundai has made a quantum leap and really started turning heads in the late 1990s and early 2000s with their advancements in quality. Today Hyundai is at the top of the automakers in the world.

Some say that such a fast rate of growth will leave Hyundai susceptible to cutting corners and will cause problems soon or later, kind of like what happened with Toyota and their recalls. Hyundai however is aware of this and is constantly placing steps to control quality and make sure no problems will occur with any of their vehicles that they produce. Regardless it is certain that Hyundai has made a huge leap in quality while still maintaining affordable, fuel efficient, safe, and stylish cars.

Currently Hyundai is taking control of car and truck segments which include the 2011 Hyundai Sonata and the 2010 Hyundai Tucson. The new 2011 Sonata sports a longish nose, panoramic sunroof, and a coupe-style design. Hyundai’s Vice Chairman Chung Eui Sun said “The Sonata will set a new standard for world class mid-size sedans with state of the art technology, superior quality, and emotional design.” The new 2010 Hyundai Tucson now has more curves than its boxier predecessor and is a bit more aggressive looking. The 2010 Tucson is also lighter by 61 pounds and has an additional 3 inches in length. The reduction in weight has allowed it to gain better fuel economy at 31 mpg highway; a gain of 6 miles per gallon (the 2009 Hyundai Tucson was rated at 25 mpg by the EPA). The revamped Tucson also has downhill brake control, panoramic sunroof, “Eco Indicator”, and available navigation, rearview camera, steering wheel controls, XM radio, and Bluetooth.

“Both the 2011 Sonata and 2010 Tucson are signs that Hyundai is in it to win it. The new design flow is proof the Hyundai cares about how stylish their cars and trucks look. Not to mention the 2011 Hyundai Equus should boost Hyundai’s image even further and increase the value of the company as a whole.” says John Skalstad, General Manager of Salisbury Hyundai Dealer, Preston Hyundai. “We are proud to offer the Hyundai product at the Preston Auoplex. Each month it seems the residents of Delmarva become more and more interested in Hyundai.” he claims.

More 2010 Hyundai Tucsons are Coming to Meet Demand in Maryland and Delaware

Friday, February 26th, 2010

The 2010 Hyundai Tucson was introduced to Maryland and Delaware Hyundai buyers last December. Two months later Delaware and Maryland Hyundai Dealers found themselves in a short supply for customers. This minor problem however will soon be solved since Hyundai Motor Company announced that they will boost 2010 Hyundai Tucson production in South Korea to meet the growing demand for the newly redesigned crossover.

The newly redesigned 2010 Hyundai Tucson now has more curves than its boxier predecessor and is a bit more aggressive looking. The cost for base models is under $20,000.

The new Hyundai Tucson was built to appeal to singles and young couples. Hyundai sold 2,216 2010 Tucsons last January, which is up from 974 in January 2009. John Krafcik, the CEO of Hyundai North America, says “We’re going to see a huge jump this year” referring to the new Hyundai Tucson. The 2010 Hyundai Tucson’s predecessor fell from 52,000 units in 2006 to just over 15,000 units last year.

“The 2010 Hyundai Tucson is better in every way from the old model of the Tucson. It seems that every time we do get a shipment to Preston Hyundai we cannot keep them in stock. Customers seem to fall in love with the new design.” says Bruce Vincent, Sales Manager at Maryland Hyundai, Preston Hyundai. Recently many Hyundai dealers have seen an increase in sales due to the recent recalls. Many Hyundai and Toyota buyers compare one another to each other when making a purchase.

2010 Hyundai Elantra Helps Increase Sales in January for Salisbury Hyundai Dealer

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Hyundai Motor America announced that January sales were up 24% from last January 2009. The sales increase was year over year. Hyundai Motor America also said that this past January sales increased even more than the Cash for Clunkers sales increase last August. The Cash for Clunkers program gave car and truck buyers a $3500 or $4500 trade-in rebate towards a vehicle that improved fuel economy. Hyundai was the top automaker to take advantage of this program in the United States.

Hyundai experienced a gain from 24,512 units last January (2009) to 30,503 units this January. That’s nearly a 6,000 unit increase. The sales increase was lead by the 2010 Hyundai Elantra with a staggering 7,690 units sold this past month. The newly redesigned 2010 Hyundai Tucson that recently went on sale also saw a sales increase of 128% and sold 2,216 units this past January. Once the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata comes out later this month it is expected to see similar results to the 2010 Hyundai Tucson.

Maryland Hyundai Dealers and Delaware Hyundai Dealers also saw the similar results as the rest of the nation did. “Lately it seems like Elantras have been our lifeblood. Customers love those compact cars” says John Skalstad of Maryland Hyundai Dealer, Preston Hyundai. John also commented that he was beginning to see a much needed increase in the Hyundai Tucson with the 2010 Hyundai Tucson model and is excited for the 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

The 2010 Hyundai Tucson was totally redesigned from its predecessor. The new 2011 Hyundai Sonata will do the same thing. Both models will follow the new “flow” style of the Hyundai line-up. The “flow” designed can be seen in the Genesis, Tucson, and the upcoming Sonata.

Maryland Delaware Hyundai Dealer Looks Back on 2009; Ready for Launch of 2010 in Annapolis, Dover, and Salisbury

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Hyundai Motor Company has had one helluva year in 2009.  For this past year Hyundai’s motto was “Never Waste a Good Crisis”. In a time of economic hardship Hyundai forced themselves to become a force to be reckoned with against all other automotive manufacturers.

In 2009 Hyundai received many awards such as: The 2009 Hyundai Genesis winning the North American Car of the Year, J.D. Power anointing Hyundai the highest quality non-premium brand in the IQS (Initial Quality Survey), and having 9 out of 10 model being “recommended” by Consumer Reports. Hyundai even spent big money  advertising in the memorable Super Bowl Ad commercial, the Academy Awards, and their new Times Square billboard.

Hyundai Motor Company has also delivered great ideas during 2009 like the Hyundai Assurance Program (Job-Loss Vehicle-Return Program) and they were the first to start on the government Cash for Clunkers program. As the year closes Hyundai will close with a record market share of over 4% which is 1% increase over the prior year 2008.

Hyundai Maryland Delaware plans to continue their 2009 momentum in 2010 with the amazing new 2010 Tucson, the revolutionary 2011 Sonata, and in the second half of 2010 will release the 2011 Equus. The new strategy to follow is “ABC” (Assurance, BlueDrive, and Connection). Assurance will be to continue offering America’s Best Warranty, the Assurance Program, Roadside Assistance, and industry leading quality and safety. BlueDrive is the notion to continue to lead the industry is fuel efficiency. Connection will help build a strong design personality. You saw this with the Genesis Coupe, and you are now seeing it in the 2010 Tucson and the 2011 Sonata. You will also continue to see it in the incredible new Elantra (which is not too far away), an all new Accent, and the dramatic new “EcoSport” Coupe. All these models will follow a “Fluid Sculpture” design. Needless to say everyone should be excited about 2010 and Hyundai.
