Preston Hyundai of Maryland and HMA Proud of Sales, Brand, Customer Experience and New Models

Hyundai Motor America recently announced having their best sales month ever in March 2011. The sales record set a new bench mark of 61,873 cars sold. Preston Hyundai of Maryland shared these results, experiencing their second highest new car sales month since their opening in 2003. Consumer demand for both was comparable to the previous record setting month, August 2009, when the high watermark for sales was set with the “Cash for Clunkers” program.

March sales of 61,873 unites was up 32% from the same period last year and up 42% over last month. What help Hyundai reach their new sales record was the overall objectives of enhancing their brand and customer experience. As well as their overall supply of fuel efficient vehicles improving and the recent launch of the all new 2011 Hyundai Elantra that gets 40 mpg. The top models sold for Hyundai were the 2011 Hyundai Sonata and the Hyundai Elantra. The Hyundai Santa Fe and Hyundai Accent were the runners up in sales. The Sonata and Elantra together accounted for 68% of total Hyundai volume.

In addition the top sales leaders, the Hyundai Genesis had a sustained growth of 24% sales increase over last year. The all new flagship the Hyundai Equus had also continued to outpace sales objectives with conquering 6% of the premium segment year to date. “We had one great month here at Preston Hyundai,” says John Skalstad, General Manger of Preston Hyundai in Maryland, “We definitely saw a lot of action with the Hyundai Sonata and Elantra but whats more exciting is looking at the future with the upcoming launches of Blue Link, the all new Hyundai Accent, and the Hyundai Veloster.” Hyundai contiues to lead the industry with achieving a 35.8 mpg sales weighted corporate average fuel economy.
